AI & Automation
AI and automation, done right, is about giving software the judgment to handle work on its own and the restraint to know when to ask first. The promise is real: an agent that diagnoses a failing server, drafts the fix, and resolves the root cause while you sleep. The risk is just as real, which is why the engineering that matters is the guardrails, the approval gate before anything destructive, the scoped permissions, the audit trail, the fallback when the model is unsure. We learned this building LadenX, which acts autonomously on production systems and still asks for a one-tap confirmation before it does anything it cannot undo. These pieces cover how we design agents that are powerful and careful at once: how they decide, how we bound what they can touch, and how we keep a human in the loop without slowing them to a crawl.
